When it opens fully at low boost or during a partial throttle lift mid-corner, it causes increased lag and a noticeably non-linear boost transition. GFB pioneered the use of "pilot operation" in the DV+, which works by re-purposing the factory solenoid to control the pressure behind the piston rather than the piston itself. This allows the solenoid stroke to be much shorter, speeding up the response time and increasing the actuation force. More importantly, it allows the piston to open and close progressively in response to the amount of boost pressure present, which smooths boost transitions and reduces the lag caused by the factory diverter valve. Adding a blow-off valve to your Can-Am Maverick or Polaris RZR turbo system is a great way to improve throttle response and hear that awesome blow-off valve turbo sound. The purpose of a BOV is not just to sound cool, but it is designed to release the pressure that is built up in the charge side of the system. With nowhere to go, the pressure can cause turbulence to the impeller slowing the spool of the turbo down and causing premature wear. By installing a blow-off valve, you can improve boost response, prolong the life of the turbo, and of course, get that cool swoosh sound! The blow-off valves can be used in conjunction with the stock turbo inlet pipe or any aftermarket turbo hose pipe that has a 1 in. BOV flange. Since the factory valve is a diverter valve and this new valve is designed to be 100 percent vent to atmosphere, a high-temp push-on plug cover is included for the eliminated return hose. The valves are machined from 6061 billet aluminum then anodized in a stealth black finish, and the top is laser engraved with the Agency Power cursive logo and directions for adjusting. APR DTR8868 turbocharger systems are direct replacements for the EA839 3.0L turbo engine. These upgrades include matching software for various vehicles and mods, providing up to 620 hp (571 AWHP) and 422 lbs.-ft. of torque (572 AWT), depending on vehicle platform and fueling, all while keeping emissions components unmodified. The software supports premium pump fuel grades, race fuel grades, and even ethanol on the S4, S5, and SQ5 platforms with fueling upgrades. For dedicated race cars, the turbocharger is designed with plenty of headroom to go even further on your own. The APR Stage 3 software is designed to avoid hard-spiking in the lower RPM band or running on the edge of what the factory rods and pistons should handle. Particular attention was paid toward component protections for exhaust gas temperature (EGT), back pressure safety (EMAP), turbocharger discharge temperatures, and fueling system capabilities. As rising exhaust gas temperatures require more fuel, the system will lower lambda to cool EGT without taxing the injection system with excessive on-times. Secondary protections will limit output for safety. The HPFP software helps increase headroom without over-driving the pressure to the injection system. The need for limiting power under extreme prolonged use (like tracking the vehicle), is greatly reduced, and the optional upgraded HPFP dramatically increases ethanol output. Note: Specific software is required to use this system, and an upgrade from lower stage systems is included for various vehicles. Software compatibility must be checked before purchase as the software installs to your vehicle's factory ECU. Currently, software can only be installed by an authorized APR dealer.
