A transfer case actuator is a small motor attached to the case that proportions engine power to the front and rear differentials; it's a vital component of today's highly complex 4WD/AWD drivetrain systems. The control motor's job is to constantly synchronize the difference between the rotation of the front and rear axles. Problems arise when this difference in front to rear rotation slips outside of predetermined parameters due to uneven front to rear tire wear, for instance. These Rugged Ridge transfer case Mega slip yoke eliminator kits are designed to be used in the same lift applications as the other standard SYE kits. The main advantage to these kits is that they allow for a much longer driveshaft to be used--an additional 3 in. This reduces driveshaft angle, improves bearing and U-joint life, and reduces driveline vibrations. They also have a shorter and stronger main shaft design with improved oiling. They will not work with cable-driven speedometers and are not for use on Rubicon models.
