Commonly referred to as “squarebody” trucks, the 1973-87 Chevy K-Series pickup trucks enjoyed the longest production run of any of the Chevy pickup trucks. With over a decade of incremental evolutions, the K10 iteration provided better fuel efficiency, safety, utility, and performance over the previous year. K-Series trucks could be had with a Fleetside or Stepside bed, and for the first time Chevy half-ton truck buyers could get a diesel engine in their pickup.
