A great piston starts with a great 2618 forging. Forged Pro piston forgings are stronger AND lighter. This makes more power AND takes stress off the crank, rods and block at higher rpm. It also saves money balancing a crank when heavy metal is not required. Forged Pro pistons are designed around ultra-modern Nitride Steel top ring packs and Summit GP Gas Ported variants. Most old production engines were designed to run on 87 octane in heavy vehicles. Forged Pro pistons have extra thick ring lands for moderate boost and nitrous. Special care has been taken to deburr critical areas for more strength and less chance of detonation.
