Heidts offers tubular control arms for the 1964-70 Mustang IFS Mustang II kits. These replacement arms work with either standard shocks and springs—or adjustable coilover shocks (depending on the set you order). Tubular arms are available in plain steel or polished stainless steel; and they come with sway bar tabs, polyurethane bushings, and ball joints installed. Order the set recommended for your classic muscle car. (PART TYPE INFO: A control arm is an important part of the suspension system of a car. There are several different types that are used to do things, control the steering of a car and to keep the wheels from bouncing too much. This system is also part of what drives the car as it works to counteract the torque from the engine. Suspension systems have an upper control arm working in concert with the lower control arm. Heidts crossmember kits are ready to install when you are. Main crossmembers are constructed from only two formed pieces for maximum strength with an accurate fit and feature the strong design of vertical inner uprights offering twice the weld area to keep your frame from twisting. Crossmembers and spring towers with built-in anti-dive are pre-welded to fit your frame and one-piece shock cups are TIG-welded in place. Kit components may vary by application, but most include all of the special, hard-to-make brackets and mounts that you need to complete the install. Heidts kits retain the original suspension to give you the correct design, correct camber action, and no bump steer! Everything is pretty much done but the installation--that, you'll have to do yourself! But never fear--Heidts Mustang II crossmembers include a step-by-step, fully-illustrated instruction book to walk you through your install.
