When sleeves become worn, electronic pressure control (EPC) oil can leak past the valve to cause the soft shifts; valves will also stick or hang up through wear, leading to the rough shift issue. Sonnax kits include a replacement modulator sleeve made from carbon steel to combat extreme wear, along with a durable plunger valve crafted from hardened alloy steel.
