The detent ball in the valve body in listed Chrysler automatic transmissions (see Applications tab) wears into the aluminum bore due to continuous movement and vibration of the linkage. This creates excessive looseness in the manual valve lever and allows the manual valve to move out of alignment. No start or being stuck in Park can occur from the manual valve being out of position due to extra clearance. This condition often requires that the valve body be replaced. Sonnax valve body detent ball and sleeve kits allow the valve body to be salvaged. The bore must be oversized using the self-guiding bench reamer included in Sonnax tool kit 22771-TL12. A .096 in. diameter drill bit is also included to allow the retaining pin hole to be redrilled for use with the OE pin. Sonnax detent spring 22771-36 is also available. Additional notes: * Precision steel sleeve restores worn valve body and properly supports the detent ball * Precision-ground steel ball included for optimal fit with the replacement sleeve * Self-guiding bench-style reamer allows casting to be oversized quickly and accurately without specialized equipment * Kit is designed to fit both the short and long OE detent bore designs
