The MSD Direct Ignition System (DIS) controller greatly simplifies the conversion from conventional distributor-type engines to a coil-per-plug configuration. Benefits include the elimination of distributor cap and rotor wear; reduced spark energy losses caused by long spark plug wires; and the ability to optimize your ignition tuning parameters. The integral 2.5 bar MAP sensor and optional temperature sensor input mean you get the most power and reliability out of your naturally aspirated or forced induction engine. Nitrous-fed engines benefit from the included Step Retard feature. Drag racers will appreciate the 2-Step rev limiter and Launch Retard features. MSD's DIS Series ignition control boxes are designed to easily convert an early style engine from a conventional distributor and single coil setup to eight individual coils. One coil per cylinder means no moving parts in a distributor to control the timing and no cap and rotor to wear-out. Timing is digitally controlled ensuring precision accuracy at all rpms and every firing. For racers that need serious spark output, the MSD Ultra 7AL ignition boxes are the right choice. Offering industry-leading spark energy output in a compact and efficient package, the Ultra 7AL includes four step retards, three rev limits and two rpm-activated switch outputs. The Ultra 7AL also features two different power output settings that can be used for on-the-fly changes which are perfect for drag-and-drive applications. All features are adjusted using plug-in modules including the 3-step rev control and multi-step retard. The rev control gives you the ability to set one rev limit for the burnout, another for the staging rpm limit and a third for use top end engine protection in the event of driveline failure. For nitrous fans, there are four separate stages that can be activated independently yet add up together. Plus, there are two rpm activated switch outputs that can be used for air shifters, shift lights or other devices that require a perfectly timed ground trigger! The MSD 6 HVC-L CD ignitions are powerful new systems designed primarily for Circle Track and events that require high rpm for a long duration. Only the best high-end components have been put into this exclusive design for more output energy and voltage, with less current draw. Each transformer is hand-wound for more power at lower temperatures. Field Effect transistors accept higher loads than standard transistors. A faster, more efficient Integrated Gate Bi-Polar transistor improves coil saturation. They feature an optimum heat sink that gives increased heat dissipation, large capacitors that give you full-strength sparks at any rpm, a rev limiter, and a clear silicone casing that protects circuits from vibration. MSD wired them with NASCAR-mandated, 6-pin, weathertight connectors and a special 4-pin connector plug that connects directly into MSD's Soft Touch rev control, which is available separately.

MSD coil current boosters provide added power to your Ford coil-on-plug engine to support additional horsepower. They also provide a 2-step rev limiter to consistently launch your car off the line. The MSD boosters increase the peak current at the ignition coil and spark energy at the plug gap, making them ideal to support engines with increased cylinder pressure from bumped-up compression ratios, a shot of nitrous, or boosted applications. The 2-step rpm adjustments are made via two rotary switches adjustable from 1,000 to 10,900 rpm, in 100 and 1,000 rpm increments. These MSD 6TN and 6ALN ignitions are the ultimate choices for superior performance in harsh racing conditions. With sturdy vibration mounts and CD circuits encased in a clear 2-part silicone elastomer, they are virtually vibration-proof. A specially designed, weathertight, 6-pin connector meets NASCAR's 20-6.1 ignition wiring rule and provides a tight, positive-locking connection with individual seals to keep dirt and moisture from each connection. The 6TNs are equipped with a special 4-pin connector that plugs directly into an MSD soft touch rev control, while the 6ALNs have a built-in rev control.
