With all the most important content from the original Magnum, Tremec Magnum XL 6-speed transmissions retain brute strength and sophistication, but eliminate multiple shifter locations and dual speedo outputs. Each XL extended length tail section provides a rigid direct-mount shifter designed to eliminate the semi-remote shifter found in many popular late-model applications, delivering vastly improved performance and lightning quick shifts. Tremec Magnum XL transmissions not only offer shift performance and extended length, but they are also rated at 700 lb.-ft. of torque, support 7,800 rpm shifts, and are available in two gear ratio configurations. The Magnum XL was designed specifically to replace the OEM 5- or 6-speed transmission where performance improvements are desired. Simplifying the swap, they include an SFI-approved steel bellhousing, crossmember, trans mount, isolated shifter, and shift ball. They also reuse the OEM hydraulic clutch release system. TCI StreetFighter transmissions are durable enough to withstand the rigors of even the toughest street machines. Equipped with a manual/automatic valve body, most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic.
