Sonnax thrust bearings are replacements for your worn automatic transmission bearings to aid in smooth operation and noise reduction. The bearings act as a guide to help limit any axial movement which can hinder performance. Manufactured to exceed OE specifications for superior quality even under extreme conditions, order the Sonnax thrust bearings best suited for your application.

Sonnax retaining rings are stamped from high-strength, roll-tempered steel, providing additional muscle to resist deflection better than mild steel OE retainers. Successful ET racing requires consistent transbrake release; that usually means utilizing stiffer springs—which leads to the need for stronger spring retainers that won't be deflected. Sonnax no-flex reverse spring retainers are small solutions to faster transbrake response times.

Sonnax anti-wear washer kits prevent metal-to-metal contact. Direct contact between your aluminum Powerglide ring gear and the reverse clutch pack pressure plate causes damage to both components and generates metal debris that circulates throughout the transmission. With the OE design, this is tolerable at original speeds, but is a far greater concern in racing transmissions at higher operational speeds. Sonnax kits include a shim and anti-wear washer that will work with any ring gear that accepts stock-type reverse clutch plates.

When building a racing Powerglide, it's necessary to plug the hole left by the vacuum modulator. Sonnax vacuum modulator plugs for the GM Powerglide transmission are made from anodized aluminum, and the gasket is included.

Upgrade your transmission's clutch pack with Sonnax automatic transmission clutch steels. These premium-quality steel parts give you the best combination of coefficient of friction and performance. Sonnax offers severe-duty clutch steels for use in a variety of automatic transmissions—including racing applications. These steels are available with up to double the number of external teeth as OE. With more teeth engaged, wear should be reduced dramatically. Anti-drag tabs create the maximum clearance between the friction and steel when the clutch is disengaged. Turbulator holes reduce parasitic drag. Combining anti-drag tabs and turbulator holes significantly reduces the heat generated when the clutch freewheels.
