Simply mount a rivet nut to the threaded bolt, press the setter into the pre-drilled hole in the materials to be connected, and turn the bolt end with a wrench to compress the rivet. The handy tools are made of corrosion-resistant steel and threaded to precise tolerances for an exact fit. They're available in multiple sizes (i.e. 1/4 in.-20, 3/16 in.-24, 5/16 in.-18 threads) and head styles.
