More cubic inches mean more horsepower. It's that simple. One of the easiest ways to get those added cubes--and added ponies at the same time--is to install a stroker crank. An even easier way is to get one of these Ford Performance Parts 347 stroker short-block engine assemblies. That's because Ford has done most of the work for you. They start with a 0.030 in. overbore, 4-bolt main, 302 c.i.d. block, to which they add a 3.400 in. forged steel stroker crank, forged-steel connecting rods, and forged pistons. Just add your own heads, cam, timing-chain set, and accessories, and you're in business.
