They offer superior strength, quiet operation, and durability through high-grade 8620 chromoly steel, precision 5-cut tooth profiling (increasing contact area), and Gleason CNC machining for high accuracy, smoother surfaces, and quieter operation, making them great for daily drivers. All 'standard finish' ring gears are black phosphate coated for wear resistance and corrosion protection. The black phosphate coating provides a microporous layer on the surface to hold lubricants to minimize friction between gear teeth, resulting in less wear during the initial break-in period and increases the overall life expectancy of the gears.
