Flaming River Microsteer electric power assisted steering kits can easily be fitted to virtually any vehicle where manual steering currently exists. There's no need to change your steering rack or fit a hydraulic system. These kits allow you to adjust the amount of assistance by using a rotary potentiometer—or you can make the system speed sensitive by connecting a wheel speed signal to the tuning box. A mode selection switch on the box allows you to choose your preferred method—manual or wheel speed. EPAS Performance electric power steering kits provide modern power steering for your classic car. These performance systems are available to outfit a wide range of vintage and classic vehicles from 1920-1980. An easy step-by-step installation manual is available online for each of the kits that EPAS offers. There is no major or irreversible modifications made to your vehicle, as everything is located under your dash and is almost, if not completely, invisible. How the systems work: The computer measures the amount of effort on the steering wheel and amplifies it with the aid of the electric motor. A potentiometer allows you to have more or less assistance, so you can adjust the amount of power assist.
