The Dana 44 is a durable, popular differential that has been used for decades in GM, Ford, Mopar, and Jeep® vehicles, as well as many others. Stamped steel, OE-style diff covers are great for daily drivers and fleet vehicles. Chrome-plated or polished stainless steel covers dress up your axle; an excellent choice for show vehicles or to just add a little undercarriage eye candy. Finned aluminum covers look great while improving differential cooling under heavy loads, plus they can add strength and rigidity. And everyone knows the Dana 44 is a popular off-road axle—choose nodular iron for the ultimate protection against rocks and other trail obstacles.

Many Dana 44 differentials were not factory-equipped with drain plugs. However, several of the aftermarket diff covers we sell feature drain, fill, and fluid level check plugs for quick, easy fluid changes without removing the cover. Also, magnetic plugs can catch debris and alert you to possible problems inside your axle housing. Many Dana 44 diff covers include gaskets and mounting hardware, but RTV silicone can also be used to seal your differential cover. Finally, be sure to purchase the recommended gear lube, too.
