Engine Works Powerglide rollerized tailhousings are heavy-duty aftermarket rear housings for GM Powerglide transmissions, designed to replace the stock, bronze-bushed aluminum housing with a high performance, needle roller bearing unit. These housings are primarily designed for high-horsepower drag racing, Pro Mod, or high performance street applications.

Additional details:

* Instead of a traditional, friction-prone bushing supporting the output shaft, these housings use a needle roller bearing. This reduces rotational friction, improves durability under high load, and minimizes heat buildup
* Manufactured from heavy-duty cast aluminum, these housings are engineered to be significantly stronger than stock, preventing breakage from high torque and chassis flex
