We've taken our original Ready-to-Run billet distributors and upped the ante with our Summit Racing™ Digital RTR (Ready-to-Run) Plus billet distributors. They now feature a digital module with a 7.5 amp rated dwell control circuit for maximum energy output. They deliver 400 volts and 125mJ of spark energy to the coil and upwards of 50,000 volts from the coil to the spark plugs. We've also added a single-stage rev limiter with a simple "tap to ground" process of the tachometer lead attached to the module to set the limiter. The tachometer dual purpose lead also produces a 25 percent duty cycle, square wave signal, so it can be used with multifunction tachometers and most popular aftermarket EFI systems. Another bonus feature of our digital technology is a fully automatic start retard. This built-in feature provides 4 degrees of timing retard during cranking and is fully dialed out by 300 rpm. This gives you easier and quicker hot restarts while lowering the initial start load on the starter and electrical system. With all these upgraded features, you're assured of peak output throughout all RPM ranges, quicker hot starts, EFI capability and the reliability of digital technology. MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wire sets feature a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot—but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire includes 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference "choke." This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. MSD Pro-Billet distributors share the same CNC machining techniques as the rest of the MSD distributor line. They feature a housing that's machined from high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum for durability and show-quality looks. Their oversized shaft receives a QPQ coating for friction reduction and corrosion resistance, with the added strength of two sealed ball bearings that guide the shaft accurately at well over 10,000 rpm. An extra-long sintered bushing replaces the ball bearing at the bottom of Chevrolet models. TIG-welded on top of the polished steel shaft is MSD's accurate mechanical advance assembly. The weights are supported by nylon pads that allow the advance to operate smoothly throughout the rpm range. For all-out racing, the advance mechanism can also be easily locked out. To accurately trigger the ignition, a high-output magnetic pickup is bolted to the base. This pickup produces a precise trigger signal that will never vary more than one degree at any rpm. A durable gear is installed for performance applications, and an MSD red cap with brass terminals and race rotor is supplied. They're available in standard and small diameter models for applications with limited clearance, and require the use of a separate ignition box such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.
