Racepak Hall Effect driveshaft sensors take advantage of the magnetic field created by simple magnets. It allows the sensors to generate a measurable voltage output known as the Hall Effect. This output can be gauged to accurately determine things like driveshaft or wheel rpm. These metal devices feature a 5/16 in. fine thread pitch on one end and a 3-pin Molex connector on the other for installation. Racepak Hall Effect driveshaft sensors work with several models of Racepak data loggers and dashes.

DIYAutoTune hall effect sensors can be used as crankshaft or camshaft position sensors, and are also suitable for use as vehicle speed sensors (VSS). After an MSD DIS-2 series ignition control is installed on the waste spark ignition system of some vehicles, the ECM of the vehicle will not be able to receive a cam sync signal. These MSD cam sync generators produce a cam sync signal after startup for the factory ECM. The Daytona Twin Tec VT-I ignition systems include a special trigger rotor for use with a traditional mechanical advance mechanism. Then, a Hall Effect sensor detects the teeth on this special trigger rotor and provides very stable spark timing. A rotary switch is used for a precise, digital RPM limiter that can be set from 5,200 to 7,000 rpm in 200 rpm increments. This system also has a red status LED that allows easy static timing. The VT-I is compatible with most original equipment and aftermarket dual fire ignition coils and has a simple 2- wire hookup to the coil. Electronic dwell control provides maximum ignition energy at high RPM—and reduced current draw at low RPM.
