The special plasma nitride process used on the gears not only increases the gear's surface hardness, but also the "slickness" of the gear teeth reducing friction and increasing cam/distributor gear life, as well as making them superior to common melonized gears. XDi Street HEI distributors also feature powerful 6-amp ignition modules that drive custom-wound performance coils up to 50,000 V, providing the hot spark needed for maximum horsepower.
