These coils mount in the stock location with no special mounting needed, but have a lower primary resistance, higher rpm capability, and greater output than stock. MSD Chevrolet distributor O-ring kits are designed to fit onto the lower shaft of the distributor, just above the gear. They are made of high-grade rubber and will keep the distributor shaft securely in place at operating rpm.

MSD coil wire retainers solve the problem of the coil wire coming loose from the tower of the coil. The hood holds the boot securely in the coil. The lower portion of the retainers snaps around the body of the coil under the flange, and is held in place with a nylon tie wrap. Some coils are shorter than others, so a spacer ring is included. This combination keeps the coil wire in place even under severe racing conditions.
