PerTronix Ignitor II® Solid-State Ignition Systems

Not ones to leave well enough alone, the engineers at PerTronix set out to improve upon their highly successful Ignitor® ignition conversion systems. The Ignitor II® conversion systems have all of the same quality features as the original Ignitor®, plus a powerful microprocessor controller to deliver, on average, 4x more available energy between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm than standard ignition systems. They're an ideal choice for collector car restoration because they fit entirely under the distributor cap. Order the model recommended for your year/make, distributor and engine application. Features include: * Compatible with 12 V negative ground systems and any induction coil * High-rpm performance is improved when used with the PerTronix Flame-Thrower II super low- resistance (0.6 ohms) 45,000 V coil * Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire rpm range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance * Develops, on average, 2x more available plug voltage * Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without heat build-up, increasing coil and module life * Never change points again * Adjusts spark timing at higher rpm to compensate for the inherent electronic delay * Senses startup and develops more energy for quicker, easier starting * Built-in reverse polarity and over-current protection shuts down the system, preventing component damage * Cannot be used with solid core spark plug wires; suppression-style or spiral-wound spark plug wires must be used

PerTronix Ignitor II® Lobe Sensor Solid-State Ignition Systems

PerTronix Ignitor II® lobe sensor solid-state ignition systems are smarter! Ignitor II units sense the coil current level and employ a powerful micro-controller to adjust the dwell. Variable dwell helps to maintain peak energy throughout the entire rpm range, and these systems develop up to four times more energy between 3000 and 5000 rpm than standard ignition systems. Order the kit recommended for your vehicle and engine application. Features include: * Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire rpm range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance * Develops on-average four times more available energy between 3000 and 5000 rpm, and two times more available plug voltage * Compensates for inherent electronic delay by adjusting the spark timing throughout the entire rpm range * Synchronized peak current and spark timing reduces heat build-up * Senses startup and develops more energy for quicker, easier starting * Built-in reverse polarity and over-current protection shuts down the system, preventing component damage * No magnetic sleeve or ring needed; uses existing distributor lobe for sensor trigger

Standard Motor ABS Speed Sensors

Standard Motor ABS speed sensors supply information regarding wheel movement to the ABS computer. They're often located at each wheel hub/rotor on 4-wheel disc systems. Alternatively, on rear drum applications, you'll usually find them mounted on the differential housing. Under braking, if wheel speeds are unequal, indicating wheel lockup, the computer modulates the anti-lock feature until the speeds are equal again. Replacement ABS speed sensors are available for hundreds of makes/models. Just match up your vehicle specs to order the correct unit.

Standard Motor Vehicle Speed Sensors

Replace your worn or malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor with one of these Standard Motor Products vehicle speed sensors. Depending upon a vehicle's equipment, the vehicle speed sensor commonly called a VSS may influence or control more systems than any other single sensor. Early-model vehicle speed sensors were just used to regulate the cruise control and control transmission shifts. Now, with OBD-II, vehicle speed is considered a part of the overall engine operating strategies, affecting both fuel delivery and ignition timing. The operations of the idle-air control valve and canister-purge cycle are regulated, in part, by the VSS. Automatic transmissions need VSS data to provide the best performance and mileage. Torque converter clutch operation is controlled by the VSS. In an electronically shifted transmission, VSS signals, instead of hydraulic pressure in the valve body, are used to determine shift points. Don't take chances with your vehicle's performance--insist on Standard Motor Products quality vehicle speed sensors.
