You get increased rpm potential, improved combustion, longer spark plug life, and better cold-weather starting. Hooking one up is a simple 3-wire connection, and they come with your choice of adjustable mechanical and/or vacuum advance, self-lubricating bushings, and a Super-Duty cap and rotor.

Mallory designed, engineered, and race-tested the original point distributor over 65 years ago. New materials and technologies have enabled Mallory to improve the performance and reliability of its basic design for performance engines. Their distributors incorporate features not found in conventional, remanufactured, or replacement distributors, with the added benefit of stabilized contact point sets that increase coil output by 50 percent. They have adjustable mechanical and/or vacuum advance, heavy-duty points for an increased rpm range, self-lubricating bushings, and Mallory's Super-Duty cap and rotor with brass terminals. Convert your OEM-style breaker points and condenser to the more reliable Unilite ignition from Mallory. These self-contained units have no moving parts to wear out, so they provide many years of trouble-free service. Simply replace the points with the Unilite module, which consists of a photo coupler, signal processor, and power switch. Each time the shutter wheel stops the infrared light from reaching the photo coupler, the electronic circuitry energizes the ignition coil. When the shutter wheel allows the light to reach the photo coupler, the stored energy in the coil discharges. These kits can drive both OEM and high-performance ignition coils, and are designed for 12 V negative ground systems.
