"Akron" Arlen Vanke was a working man's drag racer. Competing--and winning--in the Stock, Super Stock and Pro Stock classes, he set records with Pontiacs and, later, Plymouths, earning multiple Stock Eliminator titles with both marques. Through it all, he built the cars in a backyard garage and often drove his open ramp truck to the track and back. In fact, Chrysler hired Vanke to test their performance technology. In 1967, Arlen modified the RO23 Hemi intake manifold for racing. "NHRA rules allowed racers to modify the intake manifold, so I made the stock manifold into a plenum chamber manifold, " he said. Vanke's Hemi, along with the Sox and Martin team, gave Mopars so many victories in the late '60s that they dominated the scene in Super Stocks. In 1968, he built this incredible East Town Hemi Cuda, which helped him win the Nationals in August at Indy running SS/B. He then reset the record again with a 10.61 at 140 miles per hour in the Plymouth Cuda in SS/A at the Winter Nationals in Pomona, California. Now you can own a 1:18 scale replica of the Super Stock race car. It features a diecast metal body, detailed interior, injected Hemi engine, opening doors, trunk and hood, poseable steering, and serialized plate. Dragmaster, the acclaimed drag racing team originating in 1954, was established when Dode Martin and Jim Nelson partnered with the shared goal of constructing dragsters and race cars for the swiftly growing sport. Dragmaster offered anything a car fanatic could dream, from kits to turnkey cars, as well as their revered Streetster. Inspired by the T roadster, the pair introduced the Streetster, a T-bucket tube-frame chassis kit, an item that propelled the Dragster name to stardom. Roland Leong began racing thanks to Dragmaster. The SCX10 Pro 4WD 1:10 scale truck kits answer the call for an innovative, easy-to-build scale crawler kit that fuels the competitive spirit with top-level performance on the trails and the comp course. Whether your aim is to compete, or you just want to drive the best of the best, the Axial SCX10 Pro 4WD is the kit for you. The lightweight, highly adjustable Pro chassis is a comp-specific design that's optimized for climbing, side hilling, and break over. The modular multi-piece axles are built with steel tubes and can accommodate a chassis-mounted (CMS) or axle-mounted (AMS) servo. The motor mount positions the motor low and forward in the chassis for improved weight distribution. The new transmission allows you to underdrive the rear axle by 40 percent or keep it in 1:1 ratio. This can be done manually or with a servo for remote adjustments on the trail. Under driving the rear axle allows for a tighter turning radius and reduces "torque twist" on climbs. Axial didn't just stop with a completely new chassis and transmission; the new aluminum smooth body shocks were designed to complement the new comp chassis. By eliminating the shock spring and collar from outside of the shock body, the aluminum smooth body, oil-filled shocks provide higher clearance when taking advantage of the SCX10 Pro's increased steering angle. The shocks' eye-to-eye length is 96mm and uses popular 12mm diameter springs. The lower shock cap features dual O-rings to prevent leaks and acts as the upper spring retainer, while the lower shock cup features a built-in bump stop that can be trimmed for fine-tuning your suspension.
