Doug's Headers has long been recognized of as one of the premiere exhaust header manufacturers in the performance industry. Since1958, they have been producing high-quality, hand-built, mandrel-bent exhaust headers. Each and every header is tuned with the proper tube size and length to efficiently remove all of the exhaust from each cylinder, reducing pumping losses, and resulting in dramatic increases in horsepower and torque. Doug's headers are carefully developed on the vehicles that they are intended to fit and are re-checked numerous times during the design and manufacturing process. Their designs include mid-length headers, Tri-Y headers, and long tube headers, plus manifold replacement headers. Their headers come with all the necessary mounting hardware, collector reducers or connector pipes, premium extra-thick gaskets, and detailed installation instruction sheets. The gaskets are rated up to 1100 degrees F, pressures to 3700 psig (255 bar), and are designed for an exact port match with their headers. Doug's Headers offer a choice of finishes: * Metallic Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating (MCTBC), which is polished with a vibratory finishing process that not only produces a high-luster aluminum appearance, but also compresses and activates the coating, which increases the surface hardness. The finish is 60 percent more corrosion resistant than an unpolished surface, easy to maintain, and will last for years under normal operation conditions. MCTBC also protects and extends the life of headers by creating a thermal barrier that significantly lowers under hood temperatures and protects the substrate metal from thermal fatigue. * Hi-Temp black coating is an affordably priced alternative to their MCTBC. They make Hedman Street headers so well that they guarantee them to be free from defects--including cracks in the tubes and welds--for the life of the headers. Hedman Street headers are available uncoated or in Black Maxx or their polished HTC thermal ceramic coated finishes and, as an added bonus, they also come with all necessary gaskets and mounting hardware.
