They include almost everything you need to make serious horsepower. These kits are available with different cams, intakes, and heads to deliver the torque and horsepower you're looking for. Ford Performance Parts Z-Head Aluminum Cylinder Heads
Ford Performance Parts Z-Series aluminum cylinder heads provide increased intake and exhaust airflow and are available for Ford small block Windsor engines. They were designed using solid modeling technology from prime A356 T-6 aluminum and feature high-flow ports, steel alloy intake and exhaust valve seats, and manganese-bronze valve guides. Ford Z-Series heads accept both tapered seat and gasket-style 14mm spark plugs and are available as-cast or CNC-ported, both bare and assembled. Select heads are also offered with advanced "Velocity Vane" intake port design that delivers outstanding street/strip power. Developed with advanced computer-aided engineering simulation tools, their unique intake port design improves power throughout the rpm range. Velocity Vane cylinder heads are a direct bolt-on and retain OEM exhaust, intake, rocker arm, and accessory mounting locations. Features include (some vary depending on version): * A variety of combustion chamber volumes * Cast with high-flow ports * 20 degree inline valves * Steel alloy intake and exhaust valve seats * 7/16 in. screw-in studs (not included on bare heads) * Requires 1.5:1 ratio roller rocker arms with .150 in. offset intake pushrod cup (not included) * Assembled heads include laser-cut guide plates for 5/16 in. pushrods and 7/16 in. rocker studs * Premium stainless steel intake and exhaust valves (with assembled heads) Notes: * As-cast bare heads require competition valve job and bowl blending * Custom headers may be required for heads with raised exhaust port exits * Check intake manifold for port match; not all intakes are compatible due to the tall high-flow ports (does not fit M-9424-Z51/-Z51P) * Check piston-to-valve clearance, including radial valve clearance, before installing

Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads feature threaded inserts in the rocker studs and exhaust manifold bolt holes for superior strength and durability. They also include hardened seats, bronze valve guides, and fully machined valve cover rails for a more consistent gasket seal.
