Building on the features that make the GenX® 255 for GM LS3 great—like 12° valve angles and relocated valves for reduced valve shrouding and improved piston-to-valve clearance—Trick Flow's GenX® 280 HIP cylinder heads withstand the abuse of high horsepower, power-adder performance demanded by today's racers and engine builders. The GenX® 280 heads list of features is long, and it starts with the HIP'd (Hot Isostatic Pressed) castings. This process significantly increases the casting's density for improved tensile and fatigue strength. It continues with industry leading airflow through CNC Competition Ported 280cc intake ports and Trick-Alloy™ powdered metal valve guides for added longevity. Manley Severe Duty intake valves and Extreme Duty Inconel exhaust valves are designed to withstand the abuse of extreme temperatures and stresses of big power adder applications. Trick Flow® by PAC Racing dual valve springs, titanium retainers, .750-inch thick deck, and 6-bolt-per-cylinder mounting pattern round out the features. Trick Flow® GenX® 280 HIP cylinder heads for GM LS3 work with all LS3 intake manifolds and LS9/LSA blower assemblies and fit all LS head gasket and engine block combinations. BoostLine connecting rods are designed specifically for demanding turbocharged, supercharged, and big nitrous applications. The patented, 3-pocket body forged from premium 4340 steel incorporates the best features of both the H-beam (mass/weight) and I-beam (strength) designs. This provides 60 percent more bending strength compared to common H-beam rods. Each piece is heat-treated, shot-peened, and fitted with ARP-2000 cap screws (strong, malleable, and 220,000 psi rating) before final finish machining. Keep things straight with a set of BoostLine connecting rods (also available individually). Order the connecting rods in the model recommended for your specific engine size. Edelbrock Victor DR-17 Pro-Port raw cylinder heads are designed to give consistent performance in big block Chevys. These new-wave heads are based on the 24 degree Victor Gen II raw design, but feature 17 degree intake valve angles for improved efficiency and combustion, and a slight adjustment in location for better flow. Edelbrock uses a pressurized chamber and aerospace process called Hot Isostatic Pressing to compress castings at nearly 900 degrees F and 30,000 psi to give them nearly three times the average fatigue life, wicked strength, extreme density, and near billet aluminum consistency. DR17 Pro Port heads are cast with enough wall thickness for CNC-machining to various port dimensions, and will allow most CNC port shapes, sizes, and locations.
