The factory diverter valve can only operate in two states: open or closed. When it opens fully at low boost or during a partial throttle lift mid-corner, it causes increased lag and a noticeably non-linear boost transition. GFB pioneered the use of "pilot operation" in the DV+, which works by re-purposing the factory solenoid to control the pressure behind the piston rather than the piston itself. This allows the solenoid stroke to be much shorter, speeding up the response time and increasing the actuation force. More importantly, it allows the piston to open and close progressively in response to the amount of boost pressure present, which smooths boost transitions and reduces the lag caused by the factory diverter valve. It's this design philosophy that makes the VTA not only the best performing blow-off valve solution, but also the best value on the market. By installing a blow-off valve, you can improve boost response, prolong the life of the turbo, and of course, get that cool swoosh sound! If you want to install a blow-off valve on the Can-Am X3, there is one problem … no place for it! However, this is now possible with the Agency Power blow-off valve hose kit and adjustable blow-off valve that is designed to connect to the compressor side of your turbo and the plastic charge tube. The 3-ply silicone tube allows you to install our adjustable blow off valve with a 1 in. flange. The smooth inside of the silicone tube helps eliminate any turbulence caused by OEM corrugated designs. To run a blow-off valve on the X3, you need to pull vacuum which keeps the valve shut under boost. Because there is no pressure source to tap into, a special machined fitting is included which fits on to the intake manifold. The blow-off valve is what separates this Agency Power kit from others. The CNC-machined aluminum valve features a piston and spring design to provide sharp boost response when needed. The spring has been spec'd to accommodate the needs of the Can-Am X3 turbo system. Holley boost control solenoids are designed for optimal performance when using the boost control function of Holley EFI. Some setups require two solenoids and some require one. They're driven by a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) output of the ECU. It is advised NOT to use the PWM+ outputs on a Holley HP ECU, but rather use the PWM- outputs.
