Rock your rig with Trail-Gear Rock Assault 9 axle housings. Tested on some of the most extreme off-road race courses, these axle housings are built to tackle the toughest terrain you can find! They start with 1/4 in. formed shell for the center section, and then attach 1/2 in. face plates. Inner axle seal and seal housings are also included. Rock Assault 9 rear axle housings are designed for wheel mount surfaces—and are complete with flanges and unit bearing pockets, as well as inner housing seals. The strength you need to climb over anything starts with Trail-Gear!

Years after releasing their successful Rock Assault 9 axle housing, Trail-Gear decided to add a Toyota 8 in. version to the Rock Assault lineup. This housing is built to the same specifications as the Rock Assault 9 axles; however, they're built to accept the popular Toyota 8 in. differential. These housings have been tested in W.E. Rock, CalRocs, and King of the Hammers—so you know they'll stand up to the toughest terrain on earth. Trail-Gear started with a 1/4 in. thick formed shell for the center section made from A36 steel. This is a high-strength, low alloy, structural steel plate with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 psi. All of this is attached to an equally strong 1/2 in. thick faceplate for anchoring the DOM axle tubes. The axle tubes are secured by the industry's first 3-Point Attachment System, giving the tubes superior support and engagement into the center section. Trail-Gear also faces the center section to ensure your differential mounts flush against the axle housing to prevent any leaks. Rock Assault Fabricated 8 Housings are offered with 3.5 in. O.D. axle tubes with your choice of 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. wall thickness. NOTE: The housing is shipped with no ends. Housing ends must be sourced and installed to complete axle. Portal style ends are commonly used for this application.

Trail-Gear solid pinion spacers prevent loosening of the gear setup preload. Originally designed for older Toyota applications, Toyota stopped using them decades ago. Solid spacer and shims replace the crush sleeve. It takes a little longer to set up, but you won't have to keep re-torquing the pinion nut down the road. These kits are available for 4-cylinder trucks, as well as V6 and high-pinion applications.

Trail-Gear Trail-Creeper ring and pinion gears can be relied on, even over the most punishing trails. These are the same gears that have won multiple championships on the W.E. Rock circuit and have proven themselves on some of the most grueling off-road courses in the world. These gears are made from tool-grade 8620 steel and heat-treated for strength and wear resistance. The gear teeth are cut using Gleason CNC gear-cutting technology, producing an unprecedented level of accuracy and surface finish. This allows Trail Creeper gears to transmit more torque with improved fuel efficiency. The higher accuracy and surface finish also produce a quieter-running gear set, which means that they'll work great on your daily driver, too. If you're looking for a gear set that's easy on the wallet, but can handle whatever you throw at it, look to Trail-Creepers from Trail-Gear.

Trail-Gear assembled Super Finish third members are made from tool-grade 8620 steel and heat-treated for maximum strength and wear resistance. They include all new parts and are ready to drop into your axle with top-quality Super Finish 29-spline ring and pinion gears, and your choice of locker. The ring and pinion gears are treated with the REM Isotropic Super Finishing (ISF) process, which removes the microscopic peaks in the material and creates a surface on the ring and pinion gears with a roughness of less than 10 µin Ra. This means that there is less friction between the gears, reducing wear by 95 percent, and allowing the gears and bearings to run cooler and last longer. Select the ideal kit for your application. Additional features and benefits: * Fully built Super Finish 3rd members--all new parts--no used housings or internal components * 29-spline pinion spline is 7 percent larger in diameter than the 27-spline for increased strength * Available in 4.88 and 5.29 ratios for 4-cylinder, V6, and high-pinion applications * Gear teeth are cut using Gleason CNC hobbing machines and cutters * No break-in period * Non-directional surface that increases lubricant retention on the gear surface, reducing lubrication requirements * Dust shield pre-installed onto flange * High-pinion sets also include a high-pinion oil slinger * V6 units feature larger OEM-style V6 gear sets with a longer pinion gear * Trail-Safe pinon seal and nut included * Flange is quadruple drilled with popular Pickup/4Runner and Tacoma patterns: -- 66mm x 66mm x 11mm (Tacoma) -- 60mm x 60mm x 10mm (Pickup/4Runner and TG heavy-duty driveline) -- 60mm x 68.3mm x 10mm -- 61.5mm x 70mm x 10mm Notes: * Requires ring and pinion setup kit to complete the installation into your existing differential housing * For Toyota 8 in. solid axles only. Will not fit 7.5 in. IFS front axles.

Trail-Gear Rock Assault front axle housings give you clearance to go where you want and the muscle to do it! Their strength comes from heavy-duty, press-formed, 1/4 in. plate steel center sections; 1/2 in. plate steel differential mounting surfaces; 5/16 in. thick 1020 DOM axle tubes; and forged 1035 steel knuckle balls. Trail-Gear's knuckle balls are stronger than stock, so there are no worries of them becoming closed or bent. And, the thicker differential mounting surface ensures that the studs cannot pull out, even under heavy loads. Trail-Gear's design—offset tubes and shaved center section—provides you with added clearance to climb the high country. Plus, since housings are precision-aligned with computer imaging, you can rest assured they're 100 percent straight and true. You have a choice of bare tubes, or with spring perches installed—or 3-link ready with a panhard bracket included. You're equipped to attack any terrain with Trail-Gear Rock Assault front axle housings.
