They start with 1/4 in. formed shell for the center section, and then attach 1/2 in. face plates. The housings finally connect the DOM axle tubes to the center section with their 3-point attachment system, giving the tubes superior support and engagement into the center section. Inner axle seal and seal housings are also included. Rock Assault 9 rear axle housings are designed for wheel mount surfaces—and are complete with flanges and unit bearing pockets, as well as inner housing seals. These reliable kits greatly increase the oil flow in and around the adapter for cooler operation, and Trail-Gear has also increased the strength of the casting by making the walls thicker. They have greatly increased the oiling flow in and around the adapter for cooler operation; plus, they have increased the strength of the casting with thicker walls and huge oversized gussets. Trail-Creeper adapters utilize a special retainer ring--not a light gauge snap ring--to securely stabilize the main bearing and prevent bearing play.
