Trail-Gear Rock Assault Double-Ended Ram Kits

Through years of research, development, and testing Trail-Gear has developed these Rock Assault double-ended ram kits—to meet the tough demands of top-level rock crawling competitors and the toughest trails in the world. Most rams on the market only have one rod seal. Trail-Gear started with the primary and secondary rod seal to insure that fluid leakage would never be an issue. They also included two wiper seals in the design to ensure that dirt and debris stays on the trail—and doesn't invade your steering system. In addition, the ram was designed with a triple-lip piston seal for consistent steering with no drift or fluid bypassing the piston. In true Trail-Gear style, the Rock Assault kits are engineered to be the strongest on the market, so they're designed with a piston wear band and a rod bushing. This bushing allows the rod to absorb much higher side loads. The piston shaft is machined from a single piece of 4340 chromoly. Trail-Gear Rock Assault double-ended ram kits are available with a 6, 8, or 10 in. stroke. The cylinder has a black zinc plated finish, while the rod has 3/4-16 in. female threads on each end.

Lift kits and taller tires are a necessity when navigating serious off-road trails. Whether you need to make adjustments to pinion angles or tire fitment in the fender wells, Trail-Gear leaf spring perches have you covered. These 1/4 in. steel perches feature the standard center hole, with additional holes drilled 1 in. in front and behind the center to avoid crunching fender well sheet metal. When running longer rear springs for greater flex, you may need to move the axle forward—while larger tires with stock length springs sometimes hit the front, requiring the axle to be moved back. If you're adding a larger lift, it's advised to change the angle of the perches in order to set proper pinion angles. Properly mounted lift kits and taller tires can greatly improve your vehicle's off-road capabilities, but steep driveline angles and tires hitting the edges of fender wells will bring nothing but trouble. Now available with a heavy-duty 25 percent higher spring rate, Trail-Gear Super Flex front leaf springs are perfect for heavier trucks and 4Runners that need that extra strength for the trail.
