Steeda Subframe Alignment Kits

Steeda has fielded numerous calls on the rear subframe being misaligned from the factory on the S550 Mustangs. Through hours of research and development, Steeda found that there was a large difference in bolt and hole size, making it possible for the subframe to be misaligned from the factory by up to 1/2 in. left to right. That research and development also lead to a solution--the Steeda subframe alignment kits. These kits are made from CNC-machined Delrin to avoid putting two dissimilar metals next to each other to prevent corrosion. They are designed to slide into the subframe mounting holes to fill the extra space left from the factory. Steeda subframe alignment kits guarantee that your subframe will be bolted to the same location every time it's lowered and eliminate the need for any unnecessary alignments ever again.

Steeda Aluminum Off-Set Rack and Pinion Bushings

Steeda aluminum rack bushings adjust both the Ackerman angle and bump steer geometry for better steering response, quicker cornering, and more stability. The aluminum bushings replace the factory rubber bushings that mount the steering rack to the front crossmember, eliminating the deflection of the rubber mounts. They have a reversible flange design and can be installed in two different ways, giving the installer the choice of maintaining the factory Ackerman geometry or increasing the Ackerman to quicken turn-in and reduce tire scrub in sharp corners. The offset bolt hole in the bushings moves the steering rack up on the crossmember to correct bump steer geometry on cars with suspension modifications such as increased caster, X2 ball joints, or aftermarket K-members. Steeda S550 Ford Mustang rear subframe alignment kits are specially designed to work with BMR CB005 and SR Performance IRS tie-down kits to solve the problem of the rear subframe being misaligned from the factory. On the S550s, there is a large difference in size between the subframe's mounting holes and mounting bolt, causing misalignment from the factory up to 1/2 in. left to right. Steeda kits are made from CNC-machined Delrin to avoid putting two dissimilar metals next to each other, preventing corrosion, and it also weighs less than aluminum or steel. The Delrin sleeves slide into the subframe mounting holes, and fill the extra space left between the subframe mount and bolt from the factory. The tradeoff is the relatively large amount of engine movement that they allow under torque load and on hard acceleration. Steeda Rear Subframe Bushings

Steeda IRS subframe bushings improve handling, reduce wheel hop, and improve tire clearance on the 1999-2004 Mustang Cobra. The entire rear suspension of the Cobra is attached to a steel subframe, which in turn is attached to the car with just four rubber bushings. The rubber bushings deflect under load, leading to wheel hop and less predictable handling. Steeda's polyurethane bushing kits substantially reduce unwanted subframe movement and wheel hop. Steeda's subframe bushing kits include the correct 14mm bolts and nuts to ensure correct alignment of the subframe and prevent the bolts from shifting in the large 14mm holes. Steeda subframe bushing kits also include new rear bolts with a low-profile round head to increase tire clearance. The low profile allows bigger tires to be installed and the rounded head prevents tires from being torn by occasional contact with the bolts.
