Redesigned and strengthened, Reid Racing Super Hydra 400 transmission cases address weaknesses and add features that improve every aspect of the Turbo 400. They build their Super Hydra 400 cases with full 360 degree internal case "lugs" that retain the center support and pressure plate. Not only are they lightweight and offer minimal drag, but their abuse tolerance has been kicked up several notches to handle high-horsepower levels without ending up with a ruined transmission! A direct replacement for the GM case, Reid cases use an incredibly expensive permanent mold casting technique to increase the case wall thickness, making it sufficient to pass SFI 4.1 certifications without the need for any external shields or internal liners. Super Hydra 400s are massively tough, ductile, and leak-free—with the strength to handle rock crawling, as well as desert or short-course truck racing. Their modular, 2-piece design allows them to be used with all popular engines by simply changing bolt-on Superglide bellhousings. Reid Racing Super Hydra 400 transmission cases are offered in drag/street and off-road versions, each with features geared specifically for those applications. Reid Racing bellhousings are cast from high-strength 6061 T-6 aluminum and are heat-treated for additional toughness. These bellhousings pass stringent SFI 30.1 certification and are approved with no external shields required. The bellhousings feature an open bottom for easy converter access, a reduced diameter for better floorboard clearance, and a contoured mounting flange to properly match the rear of the engine block. No special flexplate is required. They are available for the Reid Racing Superglide and Super Hydra 400 transmissions.

Reid high-steer stud kits are available for your Dana 44 and Dana 60. Several kits are available for each. The Dana 44 high steer kits are available in single, 3-stud, and 4-stud kits (the fourth stud is for Reid Racing knuckles) and each kit includes stud(s), and some kits will include nut(s), and cone(s). The Dana 60 kingpin high-steer kits are available in single, 4-stud, and 5-stud kits (the fifth stud is for Reid Racing knuckles) with studs made from black oxide coated 8740 chromoly. Dana 60 studs have a fine thread on both ends and are designed for tapered nuts.

Reid Dana 60 bronze upper kingpin bushings replace the OEM nylon cone bushings in severe-duty applications--where the factory parts succumb to accelerated wear and premature breakage. They're designed specifically for rock crawling and other extreme off-road motorsports. The bushings are machined from the highest-grade alloy of any kingpin bushings for unsurpassed tensile strength and resistance to extrusion, galling, and wear. The included roll pin prevents rotation within the knuckle, while the improved grease passages allow proper pressure greasing for easier servicing. Heavy-duty Reid Dana 60 bronze upper kingpin bushings are for use with aftermarket adjustable preload high steer arms or shimmed spring eliminator kits, instead of the OEM spring and cap retainer. Their unique design increases surface area in the highest-stressed areas of the bushing face and eliminates steering shimmy common to kingpin knuckles. Threaded extraction holes make it easy to remove them when necessary.

Reid Racing stock replacement steering knuckles material is strategically placed to keep weight down while maximizing strength. Cast from high-strength ductile iron, these suspension components are identical to Reid's regular Chevy Dana 44 and 10-bolt knuckles (but without orange powdercoating). They're ideal for crossover steering applications where the OEM driver's side knuckle is retained. Machined with a "bottom up" taper, these knuckled will accept factory tie rod ends. The flat tops are machined and drilled for high-steer arms.
