PerTronix Flame-Thrower plug and play billet distributors with Ignitor II® module are designed to provide maximum ignition performance and easy installation, all at a price that you can afford. They allow you to upgrade your outdated points or stock electronic distributor with a performance-proven unit. The distributors feature the patented Ignitor II® electronic ignition module and a CNC-machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing. PerTronix electronics are compatible with any inductive ignition system coil, but high-rpm performance can be improved when they are used with the low-resistance (0.6 ohm) Flame-Thrower II coil. Their stand-alone design makes them plug-in units that require no additional ignition, but they are compatible with multi-spark CD ignition boxes for outstanding versatility. Additional features include a tempered shaft, an upper roller bearing, and an oil-impregnated sintered bronze lower bushing. The PerTronix Flame-Thrower plug and play billet distributors with Ignitor II® module come with a factory-set performance curve, a mechanical advance limiting adjustment, and a small, high-dielectric strength cap and rotor for applications with little clearance.

Flame-Thrower Race HEI distributors from PerTronix produce 42 percent more energy in the coil, with 46 percent faster spark breakdown time. This allows 48 percent more peak current to reach the spark plug, compared to their Street/Strip HEI distributors. That's an enormous improvement over stock HEIs and most aftermarket HEI distributors. A specially designed vacuum lockout mechanism prevents timing adjustments that change rotor phasing, adversely affecting the burn time and efficient fuel combustion. The rotor plates are TIG-welded to the mechanical advance mechanism, preventing high-rpm distortion and improving mechanical reliability. Each distributor uses a new aluminum housing cast and is machined from a strong, but lightweight A384 alloy. They're supplied with a high-dielectric strength cap with solid brass terminals, a balanced rotor, and a low-resistance center coil brush.
