OTB Gear LS Vintage valve covers are true old school-style covers that change the look of your modern LS to a retro version that's more in tune with your classic hot rod or custom's attitude. The finned topside design of these OTB LS vintage covers was inspired by early Corvette powerplants and the hardware includes stainless steel acorn nuts, washers, and standoffs to install in the head. Gaskets are also included, and a screw-in oil fill cap has been placed on the upper inside of one valve cover so to not interrupt the flow of the beautiful, distinctive fins. OTB LS vintage covers are cast from premium A-356 aluminum alloy with radiused valleys between the fins for easy cleaning. Very compact in size, the bowl has a 2.4 in. diameter. The total height and width are 4 1/4 in., and projection from the surface is 3 in. The units are available in right to left (as facing), or left to right fuel flow--so you choose which flow direction works best for your mounting location. Inlet and outlet ports require ORB/AN-6 fittings, which reduce the bulk of hose connections. Not only are they great looking, they have some worthwhile features—such as a standoff rib that allows you to easily clean the backside and the surface behind it. No inaccessible areas to drive you crazy. The covers are mounted with 1/4 in.-20 drive studs (removable) that can't be mistakenly driven into the side wall of the coil. These units use a commonly available spin-on type oil filter (provided) and 3/8 in. NPT fittings (not included). OTB Gear valve covers will add a retro look to your vintage rod! These valve covers are cast in a premium A-356 alloy, using modern CNC precision tooling to assure a quality product. The casting is heat-treated to correct any warpage that can occur on a lengthy component during the cooling process. The gasket surface is then CNC-machined to assure an absolutely flat surface to eliminate oil leaks. Each valve cover includes a 1/2 in. thick aluminum spacer, gaskets, and hardware. OTB Gear offers their valve covers in tall or short versions, different finishes, and mounting location options. Originally designed for 1939 to 1948 Ford backing plates, they are flexible enough for other applications. These functional pieces of art provide cool air to your brakes and a cool appearance to your car. You can add a contrasting paint color to the deep textured grooves and use two per wheel for an even more dramatic and functional look. Installation requires drilling and tapping your backing plates. A drilling template is included and the ducts are drilled and tapped for 1/4 in.-20 screws. They are available polished or unpolished.
