In many fluid systems—cooling, oiling, and so on—the junctions of fittings and adapters depend on either metal-to-metal interference, or the actual seating of mating surfaces against one another for sealing. That's not completely the case for Meziere AN O-ring to AN adapters. They combine a reliable, tapered AN seat on one end with the extra sealing power of AN threads and an O-ring on the other, for even better sealing.
