They are specially heat-treated using a multi-phase process to produce the ultimate in strength and reliability. Then these Ultimate Duty rods are fully stress-relieved and shot-peened to ensure that no stress risers remain. Howards Cams Ultimate Duty Forged billet connecting rods are profiled for long stroke applications and weight savings. The rod caps are double-ribbed for added strength and the rod cap alignment sleeves will keep the bearing caps precisely aligned. The rods are bronze bushed for floating pins and use 7/16 in.
