Howards Cams ProMax direct lube mechanical roller lifters feature "Full Time" high pressure oiling to the roller bearing shafts. This continuous oiling offers higher rpm and high spring pressure capabilities. ProMax lifters feature lightened steel alloy bodies with a special enhanced finish and heat-treated stainless steel link bars. The case-hardened 8620 rollers are fitted with the best alloy bearings and pins. These are the same materials and designs used on most Top Fuel lifters. They are specially heat-treated using a multi-phase process to produce the ultimate in strength and reliability. Then these Ultimate Duty rods are fully stress-relieved and shot-peened to ensure that no stress risers remain. Howards Cams Ultimate Duty Forged billet connecting rods are profiled for long stroke applications and weight savings. The rod caps are double-ribbed for added strength and the rod cap alignment sleeves will keep the bearing caps precisely aligned. The rods are bronze bushed for floating pins and use 7/16 in. ARP 2000 cap screw fasteners to secure the caps.
