They have an 11 in. electric fan mounted directly to them, enclosed in shrouding that ensures maximum airflow through the cooler core, to deliver maximum cooling. Because they're self-contained, these coolers do not have to be situated in direct airflow. So, you can mount them in just about any remote location to cool engine oil, transmission fluid, or differential lube. In addition to the normal inlet and outlet fittings, they have threaded bosses to accommodate temperature sending units for inlet temperature, outlet temperature, or both. They also add two quarts of fluid to whatever system they're protecting, which further helps cooling.
