FLOTEK 276cc LS3 cylinder heads feature as-cast high-flow intake runners that flow significantly better than the stock LS3 heads. The ports are in the stock location, so no special valvetrain parts or rocker arms are required. These heads are 15 degree, which is the same as the stock cylinder heads—no special pistons are required. They will work on any LS block that has a 4 in. bore or larger. FLOTEK's 290cc big block Chevy cylinder heads with 112cc combustion chambers are recommended for moderate street or street/strip BBCs with displacements up to 509 cu. in. operating at or below 6,500 rpm. It may be necessary to check clearance and slightly modify some domed aftermarket pistons due to the efficient heart-shaped combustion chamber on these heads (most of the newer designed dome profiles will clear). FLOTEK recommends removing material from the piston and not the cylinder head, as the combustion chamber shapes are very critical to flow—altering the cylinder head can unfavorably affect flow and power performance. FLOTEK's medium-sized 290cc oval port cylinder heads are designed for 3/8 in. pushrods with 0.120 in. wall thickness. They're available assembled or bare for a variety of engine applications. They work great with high-revving SBF 289, 302, and 351w based engines, providing race-level performance while maintaining full compatibility with OEM equipment. The Hammer features a 60cc combustion chamber, 205cc intake port volume, 70cc exhaust port volume, and 8mm bead lock valves. These heads will let your engine BREATHE to make big time power on full throttle strokers. The exhaust port location is raised 0.125 in. to aid in water jacket design and allow for a full 0.750 in. fire deck for high compression, blown, or nitrous applications.
