Much like the DV8 RS-2 Tire Carrier, it opens along with the tailgate in one step, rather than the 2-step process of opening a standard swing-away tire carrier. This carrier is designed to bolt onto your existing RS-10 or RS-11 bumper, so that if you're on a budget you can purchase the bumper and then the tire carrier when ready. It's precision CNC laser-cut with a multitude of mounting points so you can get creative with your hi-lift jack, gas and water cans, or whatever else you like to bring with you.
