The "chassis people" have designed and manufactured these to replace the stock sheet metal rear rails in your subframe equipped car. CE's rails are mandrel-formed 2 in. x 3 in. x .083 in. wall mild steel tube that will increase the chassis strength for quicker vehicle reaction times. Plus, they have been engineered to move the leaf springs and frame rails inboard to provide additional tire clearance. Strengthen your suspension to put more power to the pavement utilizing a pair of Competition Engineering formed rear frame rails. These combined with the main hoop kit give you the surrounding protection of a 12-point roll cage. This type of modification is required in most circuits of racing to provide increased cabin safety, while also improving the vehicles side impact protection. Best installed with the interior removed, they do require a mild amount of fabrication to properly fit to your vehicles application. Common installation steps may involve trimming length to fit your desired interior design, and welding is definitely involved.
