COBB Tuning SF Intake systems remove a pre-turbo restriction in the stock intake system. They provide great power gains when combined with custom mapping on your Accessport tuner. To maintain optimal air flow, SF Intake systems utilize several unique features such as a custom conical cloth air-filter element and a computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-designed velocity stack. Tuned or stock, with the addition of a SF Intake system turbocharger induction noise and bypass valve venting sounds are much more audible. COBB Tuning SF Intakes were designed to be easy to install without having to modify your car. Installation requires no cutting or trimming of any components and can be completed with simple hand tools. Simply remove the stock air box and bolt the SF intake into place in just minutes. COBB Tuning Subaru catted downpipes begin with a CAD-designed, investment-cast, turbine outlet that directs the exhaust and opens the diameter of the exhaust tubing coming out of the turbocharger … unleashing power restrictive stock units choke off. The shape of the outlet flange smoothly blends the turbo and wastegate gases and is configured with a bung to accommodate the first O2 sensor. This design permits the exhaust to flow with very little turbulence to the single, highly-efficient, high-flow catalytic converter. This one-piece 400-grade stainless steel cat has a much greater flow rate and a longer lifespan than ceramic or brick-style cats. It also reaches operating temperature faster for cleaner cold-start emissions. A second O2 sensor bung is located immediately after the cat. The end piping tapers down to a flange that uses the OE donut gasket and factory spring bolts to aid in flexibility, longevity, and proper fitment. This provides an improved seal compared to other methods, as well as reduced noise.
