These kits help ensure efficient delivery of spark to the cylinders, preventing misfires and improving engine performance. When the distributor cap and rotor are in good condition, the engine runs smoothly, efficiently, and provides optimal power. Worn or damaged distributor caps and rotors can lead to misfires, which are undelivered sparks that cause engine roughness, loss of power, and decreased fuel economy. While replacing the cap and rotor can be a solution for many issues, upgrading the entire distributor with a modern unit, especially one like a High Energy Ignition (HEI) distributor, can significantly improve performance, particularly in older vehicles.
