APR DTR8868 Turbocharger Systems

APR DTR8868 turbocharger systems are direct replacements for the EA839 3.0L turbo engine. These upgrades include matching software for various vehicles and mods, providing up to 620 hp (571 AWHP) and 422 lbs.-ft. of torque (572 AWT), depending on vehicle platform and fueling, all while keeping emissions components unmodified. The software supports premium pump fuel grades, race fuel grades, and even ethanol on the S4, S5, and SQ5 platforms with fueling upgrades. For dedicated race cars, the turbocharger is designed with plenty of headroom to go even further on your own. The APR Stage 3 software is designed to avoid hard-spiking in the lower RPM band or running on the edge of what the factory rods and pistons should handle. Particular attention was paid toward component protections for exhaust gas temperature (EGT), back pressure safety (EMAP), turbocharger discharge temperatures, and fueling system capabilities. As rising exhaust gas temperatures require more fuel, the system will lower lambda to cool EGT without taxing the injection system with excessive on-times. Secondary protections will limit output for safety. The HPFP software helps increase headroom without over-driving the pressure to the injection system. The need for limiting power under extreme prolonged use (like tracking the vehicle), is greatly reduced, and the optional upgraded HPFP dramatically increases ethanol output. Note: Specific software is required to use this system, and an upgrade from lower stage systems is included for various vehicles. Software compatibility must be checked before purchase as the software installs to your vehicle's factory ECU. Currently, software can only be installed by an authorized APR dealer. Software is available in two formats: for use with the stock HPFP or for use with the APR HPFP. APR Throttle Body Inlet Systems

APR throttle body inlet system is a comprehensive upgrade to the factory charge pipe system from the intercooler outlet to the throttle body. APR replaces all the components and provide a new, larger, free flowing system that flows roughly 34 percent more than stock. This was achieved by increasing the cross-sectional area of the system and by reducing the tight radius bend directly in front of the throttle body. This system does away with two potential boost leak points thanks to their single cast design. They have upgraded the intercooler outlet hose to a multiply wire-reinforced silicone design with T-bolt clamps that resist boost leak over the stock counterpart. APR's new billet throttle body to manifold adapter provides a convenient boost and vacuum reference point which can be used to for a gauge or anything else that suits your build. Lastly the system comes complete with new throttle body and intake manifold gaskets, which are common leak points many never know to address.

APR Turbo Outlet Pipes

APR turbo outlet pipes replace the factory plastic pipe with a high-quality aluminum pipe that is a constant diameter within. APR pays close attention to the airflow paths and provide as few bends and tight radius turns as possible to maximize performance. Unlike the factory plastic pipes, APR's won't melt and crack under extreme conditions. This direct replacement piece additionally deletes the turbo muffler, which is integrated into the pipe on the Golf R/S3 and similar platform vehicles. The pipe features bead rolled connection points to resist hose slippage, and all mounting brackets are TIG-welded to the pipe for a strong connection. Finally, the pipe is finished in an attractive satin black finish. This all results in a more reliable setup and increased performance through a smooth and strong uninterrupted airflow path. APR DTR6054 Turbocharger Systems

APR DTR6054 turbocharger systems are direct replacements for the EA888 Gen 3 engine. These upgrades include matching software for various vehicles and mods, providing up to 491 hp and 425 lbs.-ft. of torque, depending on vehicle platform and fueling, all while keeping emissions components unmodified. The software supports premium pump fuel grades, race fuel grades, and even ethanol on the Golf R, S3, and TT S platform with fueling upgrades. For dedicated race cars the turbocharger is designed with plenty of headroom to go even further on your own! Designed and developed from the ground up by APR, DTR6054 turbochargers do not require a core and there's no additional downtime. They are built using an aluminum anti-surge compressor cover with appropriate A/R matched to a larger aircraft-grade, 6061 billet aluminum 60mm compressor wheel, a turbine housing cast with high-temperature 310 stainless steel to take the heat and abuse seen on a road course, and a nickel-based superalloy K418 high-flow 54mm turbine wheel. A German dual ceramic ball bearing center section provides smooth and reliable operation with a better transient response, eliminating the factory failure-prone journal bearing design. Each kit includes the complete turbocharger with compressor inlet pipe, compressor outlet hose, T-bolt clamps, gaskets, O-rings, exhaust ring, exhaust V-band, exhaust manifold gasket, studs, bolts, and washers, oil and coolant line O-rings, and APR's ECU upgrades for select vehicles. APR Intercooler Ducts

APR carbon fiber intercooler ducts for the Porsche 992 3.0T dramatically lower intake air temperature (IAT) by increasing airflow through the ambient air path of the intercooler cores. In doing so, the engine makes more power and sustains power levels for longer—as IAT is kept away from the knock threshold of the engine and IAT-based power reduction safety routines of the factory ECU. Multiple back-to-back wide-open-throttle acceleration tests proved APR intercooler ducts reduced IAT as much as 9.6 degrees C (17.3 degrees F) or 15 percent better than stock! The APR intercooler ducts are made from carbon fiber, allowing the cooling ducts to be formed to the exact shape necessary to fit into the tight engine bay within the 992's rear-end. The vents allow for maximum flow through the system, while continuing to connect the system to the rest of the factory ducting. Everything simply slides into place with no extra hardware required. A gorgeous matte finish with a gloss APR logo adorns the system, giving it a motorsport-inspired feel, which is unfortunately tucked out of view with the rear bumper installed. Testing: The 911 must be tested on the street, rather than a dyno, to capture real world cooling data. This is especially true because of the rear engine design. In real world driving, air is forced through the cooling ducts differently than it is on a stationary dyno, even with excellent cooling fans. During development, APR engineers fully instrumented the engine to find the limitations of the factory hardware. It was quickly determined the factory intercoolers struggled with airflow through the ambient cooling paths. By redesigning the cooling ducts, more high-pressure ambient air could be forced through the system to maximize effectiveness of the coolers. To illustrate their importance, wide open throttle acceleration tests were conducted for roughly 11 seconds, both with stock cooling ducts and APR cooling ducts. IAT was measured post-intercooler with high-quality thermocouples. Ten back-to-back tests were conducted with each setup, and the results were averaged together. With the stock ducts in place, IAT rose to 66.2 degrees C (151.2 degrees F). This is above the factory knock threshold of 60 degrees C (140 degrees F) and is approaching the ECU power reduction limiter at 70 degrees C (158 degrees F). Once this IAT threshold is crossed, the ECU will begin aggressively reducing engine power to protect the engine. By simply swapping to the APR intercooler ducts, IAT dropped 15 percent, or 9.6 degrees C (17.3 degrees F), leveling off at 56.6 degrees C (133.9 degrees F). This is below the knock threshold and safely away from the power reduction threshold! APR Intercooler ducts are a simple and cost effective upgraded to the 992 3.0T and should be considered by any customer, at any stage of performance, looking to maximize the performance of their 911!
