The AMS Performance MQB Carbon Fiber intake upgrade was designed to draw a higher volume of cold air into the stock turbocharger. AMS has selected a motorsports-grade carbon fiber that's both hand-laid and high temperature-resistant. Other options on the market use the typical gloss clearcoated carbon fiber prone to discoloration and cracking. AMS MQB intake kits use three layers of 1mm twill weave pre-preg carbon fiber capable of sustaining a 240 degree C temperature threshold, while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic appearance—with no worry of fading or yellowing over time. These intakes also eliminate the engine bay vents found on the factory intake. AMS Performance Q50/Q60 Red Alpha fuel filter kits are designed to be the highest quality and most sophisticated solution for fuel filtering of the VR30 engine on the market. As many have experienced, OEM fuel system component failures are fairly common on the VR30 engine, especially when using higher concentrations of ethanol like E50 or E85. Ethanol is an excellent high octane fuel source with its high alcohol content, and because of this it also acts as a cleaning agent. For some cars, this can dislodge sediment in the fuel tank and lines built up over years of running low grade gasoline. One of the best ways to prevent this dislodged foreign object debris from making its way into the injectors or engine itself is by utilizing a high-quality inline fuel filter. The factory fuel pump system in the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan utilizes a high-end brushless fuel pump, and a complex routing of fuel lines to produce an excellent fuel delivery solution. Unfortunately, the engineers designing the OEM system didn't spec it to be capable of the 1000+ hp commonly seen from Alpha Twin Turbo Kit vehicle builds. The AMS Snailworks Engineering Team took this as an opportunity to not only increase the total throughput of the fuel pump system, but to do it in such a way that all of the OEM functionality is retained.
