Engineered to work just as hard as the truck that they are installed on, the bumpers massive ductile iron recovery points are rated to pass all OE load specifications and double as wear plates to slide over steep obstacles. A 4mm thick stamped steel face provides a superior level of protection while also safely accommodating an optional winch mount and a 12-16,500 lbs. Warn winch (not included) to assist with vehicle recovery. An optional winch delete kit (not included) is also available for those who choose not to install a winch. AEV Conversions ZR2 Bison rear bumpers are not just for good looks, they are designed to withstand all the rigors of off-road use and overland travel. They maximize departure angles, offer integrated tubular steel corner protection for the ZR2 bed, and to assist with vehicle recovery, they are equipped with heavy-duty cast aluminum recovery points for easy rigging of 3/4 in. anchor shackles. The factory step pad is retained and all trailer hitch, license plate lights, trailer plug, and spare tire winch access locations stay the same. Colorado ZR2 Bison rear bumpers also have provisions for two 3 in. square LED reverse lights to be mounted cleanly behind the bumper for added visibility when backing-up in the dark (mounting kit sold separately). AEV Conversions skid plates have your vehicle covered underneath with their variety of heavy-duty plates. They feature HSBS—Hot Stamped Boron Steel—construction, an ultra-high strength, press-hardened steel used in automotive applications for passenger impact protection because it is lightweight with an extremely high-yield strength (approximately 200,000 ksi vs. mild steel at 25,000 ksi). Depending on the vehicle application, some AEV skid plates will be made of steel tubing or 1 in. DOM tubular steel construction and finished with an OEM 2-stage, corrosion-resistant coating.

Recommended to be used in conjunction with AEV's Bison front bumper, they are the same width as the factory flares but sit much higher on the body. They feature injection molded ABS plastic construction with an OE acid-grained texture. Drilling is required and AEV includes an installation template to do the job properly.
