Wilwood brake proportioning valves are adjustable between 100 and 3,000 psi (depending on model) with a twist of a knob or the flip of a lever, and most can reduce pressure up to 57 percent. They let you adjust brake bias quickly and easily to compensate for changing track conditions, or for big and little tire combinations.

Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

is this product for front & rear disc brakes?, and am I still required to use a 2 lb.presure reducing valve for the rear brakes or is this built in the proportioning valve ? thanks

Asked by DAVID on January 15, 2017

A:

It is a basic adjustable proportioning valve. I used it on a Chevy truck, in place of the stock ABS proportioning valve with front and rear disks. You can turn the pressure up or down to the rear as best suited for your vehicle. I don't think you should need a 2 lb reducing valve with this, but if you you installed a 2 lb valve to keep pressure to the back for a better pedal, you should keep that in.

Q:

Asking this question again....does the switch on the valve operate the brake lights, eliminating need for switch on brake pedal?

Asked by HENRY on October 16, 2018

A:

After purchasing this product in kit form with the MC, I can answer this question correctly per Wilwood's install directions:
"a fluid port with a pressure switch responds instantly to pressure in front fluid circuit for brake light activation". "....if you wish to eliminate the switch on the brake pedal, use the switch in the proportioning valve block". I can only translate this as the switch DOES activate the brake lights.

Q:

What bracket will this valve work with? I've installed a tandem master cylinder also (Wilwood). These are for a 1969 vet which has the valve located on the drivers side already.

Asked by GARY on July 11, 2018

A:

I had to fabricate a bracket from a 90 degree piece of metal with two holes. One hole bolted to master cylinder, the other to the P- valve.

Q:

I have converted the front brakes of my 86 Monte SS to the corvette c5 brakes (kit w spindles). Still have the drums in the rear now my front brakes lock up too easy.I am planning to install chevy s10 disc brakes to the rear. Will this be a good match? Also will I require an adjustable prop valve. Such as this willwood ?

Asked by BLAINE on May 05, 2018

A:

If you retained factory pro valve you may be able to try s10 discs. Always test first .
