Q:

Can you use regular fuel line fittings like you get at the parts house

Asked by CHRIS on March 21, 2017

A:

I purchased 6-AN fittings that have a hose barb on them to use with rubber fuel line. It was a cheap set that comes with 3 hose barbs and a 6-AN plug. Summit has the set.

I am running this on my 6.0L LS (LQ4) in my mud truck build, behind a Fitech Ultimate LS 750hp system. It worked exactly as described right out of the box. It has been rock steady at 58 PSI from the moment I set it. I thought the adjustment screw threads might have been damaged when I received it because the screw was very difficult to turn at first when setting pressure. The threads were fine, but I put a tiny but of lube on the threads just to be sure. The first turn to open the relief was a bit stiff but once I was in a turn or so it was smooth and easy. I think its something to do with the relief spring tension not the threads themselves. I did not have any sealing issues as others have had. Just go slow and do it right. ...read more

Double check your fuel lines for feed and return to ensure you are installing them correctly. aAso put teflon tape on every fitting going into the unit and seat all the way. I got this unit working and have adjusted all the way up to 4 bar / 58 psi but currently set on 3.5 bar / 51 psi. The Tanks unit works just as good as the more expensive units and shares the same diaphragm as Aeromotive for future repairs. ...read more

I had to replace every o-ring that came with this fuel pressure regulator. Nothing would seal correctly once the pressure was raised.
