Q:

What is the max lift these can handle My stock vortec rockers cant handle my 495"/503" cam

Asked by KYLE on 12/5/2017

These rockers are should handle your lift 495/503. But these are not self aligning so you will need to see if they offer them for your vortex motor. But you may want to check, we have had issues with bigger cams in vortex engines past 475 lift. The bottom of the spring retainer on the head will hit the top of the valve guide if they haven't been machined for clearence. When we valve job a set of vortex heads for a customer using them in a performance applications we always top the valve guide about 0.80 to .100 for high lift cams. So you may have bigger problems if you are breaking pushrods or rocker arms. Hope this was helpful to you. Thanks from Valentine Machine, Taylor's SC

I believe studs are pressed in on stock vortec heads and tend to pop out on high lift. the stock springs aren't tall enough for 503 lift and they need self Aligning rocker arms. I think you might wanna check into vortec specific parts.

Will these rockers work with the Summit Cam 1108

Asked by RANDY on 12/30/2017

yes, these rockers have a longer slot to allow for high lift cams without interference with the mounting stud.

That camshaft is a very high rpm cam that requires a high spring load, stamped rockers are a very poor choice if your engine is really that high rpm but there are some circle track guys that get by running them because they have to.

Q:

Can I use these with brodix ik180cc heads? They have guideplates.

Asked by JOHN on 5/17/2021

Thanks for your question. The Summit G6800 rocker arms would need guideplates and would fit the IK 180 Brodix cylinder heads.

Q:

will these rockers work with the summit 1065 cam ok.do i need to use guide plates with them. heads are gm 882 - 76cc chambers

Asked by JAMES on 7/20/2020

Thank you for your question. The Summit G6800 steel rocker arms do not need guide plates. You could use press-in studs but under heavy loads or high RPMs you may want screw-in studs.

After buying some world product heads used, I kept trying to measure the pushrod length only to realize the heads had oversized springs that interfered with the stock size rockers. Luckily Summit had the rockers I needed and after installing these I was able to get a proper measurement without spring to rocker intererence. Looks like stock and fit under the original corvette rocker covers

These are a good replacement stock to mild performance rocker arm. The ball has oil groves which is a step up from stock. The rockers are smooth and consistent with a nice long slot. The nuts gripped the stud well and should hold the setting without any problem. My set was slightly heavier than stock, buy about 5 grams ea., but the same weight thru out the set.

SUM-G6800
I bought these to replace a set of roller rockers that had poor fitment. These summit 1.5 rockers are extremely accurate! Lift was true 1.5 at the valve and they scrubbed the valve tip in the right area. I like stamped rockers for the street because they are light and center on the valve tip because of the pivot ball. I also have purchased the 1.6 rockers as well and they are the same quality and accuracy. Made in USA!!
