Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

I have a 3300lb third gen camaro with a 11:1 350 th400 3:73 gears. cam is 287 297 advertised duration with .504 lift range is 2500-7000 approximately what will this converter stall at in my application?

Asked by JOSHUA on November 17, 2017

A:

At this point it's a guessing game. Are you on the street, are you drag racing or a combination there of, What fuel are you using? Do yurself a favor and get a Dyno run or two. Actual numbers, horse power and torque before deciding on a converter.
As it stands you may end up changing torque converters every week until you find the right one.

Q:

I have 3500lb. car with a 454 with approximately 450HP and 500 torque, and 4.10 gears. Wondering what kind of stall the combo will run both off the line at the track and how much slippage on the street/highway. 400 turbo if it matters.

Asked by ANTHONY D on August 21, 2018

A:

3000 to 3500 will work great. When does full power come in what’s your Cam rpm range? What’s your intake rpm range?

Q:

1970 Cutlass Supreme, Olds 350 Rocket bored over 30 with a 350 turbo transmission. Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake Manifold and Comp Cam part# CL42-224-4 1800-6000rpm. American Racing 15x7 215/65/R15,15x10 275/60/R15. 12 Bolt rear end but I'm not sure on the size of the gears. I was thinking about maybe installing 3.73+ with posi track.

What do you think I would stall at with this converter and do you think it would be right for my setup?

Asked by KEVIN M on December 23, 2017

A:

I like the idea of strictly racing. Would yo go with 2700-2800 or go higher?

If, I was to hunt down the transmission in a 442 for the extra gear. Would I be able to drive on the highway? I don't want to come in on a trailer to go street racing.

this converter launches hard as expected, but just as importantit takes the crawl out of my street rod while sitting at a light, which is really great as the cam in it is huge i had idled it at 1600 rpm with the old converter and trans just to keep it lit.

Stalls around 3000 in with a 468 big block chevy and 3.89 gears and 28x18.5-15 tires with a th400. Gets out of the whole hard. But still need more tire. Did need to buy the larger bolts and drill the flywheel to work with the larger flange of this converter.

When installing I noticed a grinding sound when clocking the converter. Will be sending this back, too much work to replace.

Stalls to about 2800 in my Ls powered 86 Monte Carlo. The only thing negative I have to say about it is that it requires you to shim the bolts between the flexplate.
